Century College Baseball Players Sign with NCAA Colleges

The 2015-16 Century College baseball program had 3 players sign National Letters of Intent to continue their career at NCAA Division II and NAIA programs during the fall NCAA signing period.

Sophomores Ryan Schlosser (Minnesota State – Mankato), Noah Bluth (Minnesota State – Mankato), and Matt Hasselquist (Grand View University) signed national letters of intent to continue their baseball careers and are receiving baseball scholarships.  Schlosser and Hasselquist were major contributors to for the Wood Ducks as they finished 4th at the 2015 NJCAA World Series.

 Noah Bluth played his freshmen year at Southwest Minnesota State University before transferring to Century for the 2015-16 year.

Schlosser is a RHP from South St. Paul HS and was 9-3 with 3.65 ERA as a freshman in 2015.  In 71.1 innings, Schlosser struck out 81 and walked only 18.  He was also named 2nd Team NJCAA All American in 2015.  

Hasselquist is a 1B from Chisago Lakes HS and hit .292 with 5 HR and 31 RBI as a freshman in 2015.   Bluth is a catcher from St Anthony Village HS and hit .457 as a freshman with Southwest Minnesota State in 2015.

“We are very excited for these players to have the opportunity to move on the next level and play for some great programs,” stated Head Coach Dwight Kotila.  “They came to Century College with the goal of moving on to a top level university, and through their hard work, their goal was reached.” 

The NCAA early signing period is held in the fall (starting November 11), and also has a spring signing period in April.   “We have other sophomores who will be signing with NCAA schools in the spring as well”, stated Coach Kotila.

In the last 5 years, Century has now had over 40 players move on to NCAA D1, D2, D3, and NAIA colleges.

Century College Baseball News

Ryan Schlosser and Eric Olheiser named NJCAA All Americans

Century College baseball players Ryan Schlosser and Eric Olheiser were recently named to the 2015 NJCAA All American teams for their successful 2015 seasons.   Schlosser, a freshmen RHP from South St Paul High School, was named 2nd Team NJCAA All American.  Olheiser, a sophomore 3B from Tartan High School, was named 3rd Team All American.  Schlosser was also voted as Region XIII Player of the year this past spring.  Both players helped lead Century to a 40-9 record and a 4th place finish at the 2015 NJCAA DIII World Series this past spring.  This was the 2nd trip to the NJCAA World Series in the past 3 years for the Wood Ducks.


Both Schlosser and Olheiser were also were named to the All Region XIII Baseball Team along with fellow teammates Mitch DeGrasse (Sophomore RHP, Eau Claire, WI), and Axel Twenge (freshman OF, Minnetonka, MN).

Four Century Baseball Players Named to All Region XIII Baseball Team; Schlosser Named Region MVP

Century College baseball players Ryan Schlosser, Eric Olheiser, Mitch DeGrasse and Axel Twenge were voted to the 2015 Region XIII Baseball Team in honor of their successful season.  

Ryan Schlosser was also voted as The Region XIII Player of the Year, which goes to the most outstanding player in the entire region.

Century Men's Baseball Player Ryan Schlosser Named NJCAA Pitcher of the Week

Great news from the ‪#‎Woodducknation‬

Century College Men's Baseball player Ryan Schlosser was just named NJCAA Pitcher of the week for the 2nd time this season! 

Schlosser pitched a complete game no hitter, leading Century College to a 11-1 victory over Bismarck State. Schlosser is a freshman from South St Paul High School.

Third Annual Century College Athletics Golf Tournament June 6

Century College Athletics is hosting the 3rd Annual Athletics Golf Fundraiser at Manitou Ridge Golf Course on Saturday, June 6, 2015.  Registration begins at noon, and shot gun start begins at 1:30.
