Century College Ranked #2 in NJCAA Baseball Poll Released February 25!


The Century College baseball team is ranked #2 in the first NJCAA Division III poll released on February 25, 2014.

Century opens the 2014 season on February 27, 2014, at the Babe Howard Classic in Millington, Tennessee.

Century College Welcomes Lisa Berg, New Women's Soccer Coach


Lisa Berg was named head women’s soccer coach at Century College in January.  She’s a Minnesota native with over 10 years of coaching experience internationally, collegiately, and at the competitive club levels.

 Berg served as the technical advisor for women’s football for the Federation of Uganda Football Associations.  She coached the 2013 Ugandan women’s U20 national team to victories over South Sudan, and she coached the 2011 and 2012 senior women’s national teams against DR Congo and Egypt.  She has spent the last 6 years developing soccer for females and mentoring coaches in Uganda, Swaziland, South Africa, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zanzibar as the assistant director of the International Sport Connection.

 Prior to her work in Uganda, Berg was the first assistant coach at Arkansas State University from 2008-11.  She helped guide the Red Wolves to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in 2009 for the first time in its program history.  Before she helped in rebuilding the Red Wolves soccer program, she served as volunteer assistant at the University of Minnesota, T.C.  Berg was an Academic All-Big 10 player for the Golden Gophers from 2003-05 and helped rebuild the Minnesota soccer program during her time as a player and assistant coach.

 Berg also has experience with coaching at various clubs across the U.S., including FC Lubbock, Arkansas Rush, St. Croix Soccer Club, the North Suburban Soccer Club, and the East Select Soccer Club.  She is a member of the NCAA Women’s Coaching Academy and she has worked with the Olympic Development Programs in Texas, Arkansas, and Minnesota.      

 Berg graduated with her master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Psychology and a certificate in Leadership from Texas Tech University in May of 2013.  While at Texas Tech, she taught the Principles of Sport Coaching Course and assisted with the Seminar in Sport Leadership.  She attained her B.S. from the University of Minnesota in 2006 majoring in Kinesiology/Pre Physical Therapy, with minors in Chemistry and Spanish.  Berg currently holds a USSF National B Coaching License and the NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping Certificate.
